A team of Bradford GPs will be painting Bradford purple next week to raise the profile of diabetes.
On Wednesday, City Hall and the fountains in City Park will turn purple in honour of the Bradford Beating Diabetes (BBD) campaign’s official colour.
The event launches with the floodlighting of the fountains at 11am, and from 11.30am until 1pm the BBD clinical team will be handing out leaflets and talking to members of the public about recognising the warning signs of the disease.
Healthy snacks will also be available from the specially-converted HALE MOV bus to educate how healthy eating can prevent and control diabetes.
A special drumming display will also be co-ordinated by community performance arts group Kala Sangam.
City Hall’s big screen will display a series of messages about the BBD campaign, spotting diabetes and where to get help.
