Councillors overturned a recommendation to refuse an application to turn a private industrial unit in Stockbridge, Keighley, into a commercial garage.
The change of use proposals were debated by Keighley & Shipley Area Planning Panel, and relate to a property on land east of 50 Dalton Terrace.
The applicant said the business would not operate at weekends, and that there would be no changes to current parking arrangements.
However, council officers had argued that if the plans were approved they would result in an “unacceptable” increase in the volume of traffic using Sussex Street and would increase noise and other disturbance for nearby residents.
Panel members gavepermission, emphasising that business hours must be restricted to between 10am and 5pm.
