A village pantomime has raised more than £1,000 for a children’s charity, as a long-serving member of the group prepares to snip 14 inches of her hair off for the same cause.

Every year, Addingham Pantomime Group has a collection for a chosen charity and this year’s charity is The Little Princess Trust. The Trust provides real-hair wigs, free of charge, to boys and girls across the UK and Ireland that have lost their own hair through cancer treatment or other illnesses.

Jessica Doherty, who has been involved in pantomime since she was seven, is having 14 inches of her hair cut off and donating it towards the making of a wig on her 19th birthday. She is collecting donations herself at justgiving.com/jessdoherty.
