BRIGHOUSE Town Women bounced back from an early blow to record a magnificent 2-1 win at Chorley in the Women's FA Cup Second Round on Sunday.

They were forced to come from behind once again after the hosts netted in the ninth minute, with Hannah Freibach's second half equaliser forcing extra time.

Five minutes in, Chloë Wild put the winner away to secure Brighouse a Third Round tie at home to Barnsley on January 5.

Huddersfield Town's FA Cup clash at Stoke was even closer, as Laura Elford's first-half strike was cancelled out in the 83rd minute.

Extra time couldn't separate the teams, with Town winning the penalty shoot-out 4-3 and subsequently booking an away tie at Loughborough Foxes in Round Three.

Meanwhile, Silsden's West Riding County Women's Football League home game against Yorkshire Amateur was goalless at half-time, but the impressive visitors scored five in the second half to consolidate top spot in the Premier Division.

Brighouse Athletic lost 2-1 to Lower Hopton, with the result seeing them remain in fifth.

In the First Division, Skipton Town came from behind to win 3-1 at Dewsbury Rangers, and Farsley Celtic Juniors Reserves beat Ossett United Reserves 5-0.

Farsley Celtic Juniors Development drew 2-2 at Pontefract in the Second Division, while Thackley Reserves finally played their West Riding County Cup game at Leeds Medics & Dentists, but lost 2-0.

Farsley Celtic are undefeated in the North East Regional Women's Football League Premier Division after a 2-1 win at Redcar Town. On target for the visitors were Dee Swales and skipper Rach White.

Elsewhere, Bradford City Women saw their home game in the FA Women's National League Division One North with Norton Ladies postponed due to the weather, while their reserves lost 5-1 at Durham in the league, with Amelia White netting a second-half consolation.

This weekend sees Bradford (Park Avenue) at Altofts for their Regional League South game.

There are some rearranged West Riding League games too, as Phoenix travel to Ossett Reserves, Skipton Town visit Farsley Reserves and Tyersal head to Dewsbury.

Meanwhile, Ilkley Town entertain Middleton Athletic and Thackley Reserves host Ackworth.

County Cup games see Thackley Firsts taking on Bradford City at Rawdon Meadows and Silsden playing Farsley Celtic Juniors at Woodhall.
