BUTTERSHAW St Paul’s moved joint top of the Bradford & District Evening League Division One with last year’s champions Ciroc.

John Breare posted a competitive 128-6 at St Paul’s Avenue, albeit from 18 overs, thanks to Jonathan Robinson (43no) & Mo Hassan (31) as Cameron Keenan took 3-23.

An unbroken fourth wicket partnership of 83 between Jamie Robson (52no) and Elliott Richardson (32no) saw St Paul’s home by seven wickets with one over to spare.

The battle between last season’s top two went the way of champions Ciroc as they eased past Greenfield by six wickets at their shared ground at the Karmand Centre.

Batting first as the 'away' side on this occasion, Greenfield were skittled out for 73 in just 11.5 overs as Bilal Ejaz took 4-18 and Amir Hussain 3-26.

Greenfield made Ciroc work all the way for their victory as they reached their target with only two balls to spare, with Mehran Ibrahim top scoring with 27.

Denholme were the top scorers in Division One notching up 134-5 from their 16 overs, as they recorded their first victory of the season at Crossflatts thanks to contributions from Micky Hutchins (40), Matt Malik (31) and Jordan Powell (28).

Three wickets from Phil Poole Jnr in only the second over saw the home side reduced to 6-3. A battling 38 from skipper Dom Bennett saw Flatts eventually end on 103-6 as Poole finished with 4-8.

Raja’s emerged victorious over Undercliffe by seven wickets at their new Bradford Park Avenue ground. Skipper Mohammad Altaf (4-9 including a hat-trick) and Banaras Hussain (3-19) saw the Intake Road side bundled out for just 71, with only Luke Heinemann (20) offering any sort of resistance.

Mohammad Saqib (31) and Adeel Ashraf (22no) helped Raja’s reach their target with six overs to spare.

Close finishes were the order of the day in Division Two with two games going down to the final ball.

Muff Field recorded only their second ever success in the Evening League with a one-run victory at Bradshaw.

The Sunnybank side made 134-6 from their 16 overs thanks to Shoaib Iqbal (46) and Zohaib Iqbal (38). In reply, the home side fell agonisingly short on 133-7 despite the best efforts of opener Jonny Waddington (36) as Islam Khokar took 3-19.

The other final ball thriller came at Shelf against Thornton in the battle of the two relegated teams from last season.

Thornton made an impressive 142-4 from just 16 overs with Tom Clee (37no) and Chris Metcalfe (36) top scoring for the Hill Top side.

In reply, Bilal Hameed (25no) saw Shelf reach their target off the last ball as they finished on 144-8, to move them joint top on five points.

Great Horton Park Chapel join Shelf as joint leaders with a 21-run win in a low-scoring affair at Cross Roads & Daisy Hill.

The Ewart Street side made a gettable 109-4 from their 16 overs thanks mainly to a third wicket partnership of 79 between Chris Brown (44no) and Oliver Challis (35).

Tight bowling by Park Chapel and slow scoring by the top order proved to be the Windhill side’s downfall as they ended on 88-5, despite good contributions from Mahesh Patel (28) and Matthew Marshall (24no)
