BRADFORD (Park Avenue) beat Brayton Belles 5-2 in an entertaining West Riding County Women's League Premier Division match at Thornton.

After Nat Bell's opener, chances for both sides went begging, with Vicky Barlow's shot saved by the visitors' keeper. A fairly even first half ended 2-2, with Brayton's Aine Abbott and Ruby Oates taking advantage after Bradford's defence went a player down following keeper Annie Roberts' early withdrawal.

After the break, Bradford took control as player of the match Kirsty Russell completed her brace.

The feisty second half was completed with a cheeky strike under the keeper from Millie West and one on her debut from former Leeds player Shauna Messenger.

Silsden lost 5-1 at Yorkshire Amateur. Ammers were stronger in the first half but found it difficult to break through the stubborn Silsden defence.

A shot was saved superbly by the Silsden keeper, but the rebound secured the first goal. Ammers continued to press but the Cobbydalers showed their quality when counter-attacking, Ellie Field equalising with an unstoppable long-range shot. However, Ammers ran away with it in the second half.

This week, Silsden entertain Brighouse Athletic in a limited league programme.

A Demi Topliss volley gave Brighouse the lead against Hepworth United, but the leaders responded with three goals to win the match.

In the First Division, Ilkley beat Leeds City 2-0. Jess Ogden's brace for Skipton Town was in vain as they lost 4-2 in a battling performance against a very good Thackley side.

Farsley Juniors First are Second Division champions after beating Pontefract Sports and Social 6-0 through a Cam Clarke hat-trick, plus goals from Kim Clydesdale, Shauna Hill and Keeley Totti.

National League action this week sees Huddersfield Town at home to Fylde tonight, followed by Guiseley against Middlesbrough at Nethermoor tomorrow.

An abject first-half performance at Sunderland left Guiseley 3-0 behind and with too much to do.

Despite Vixens' drastic improvement in the second half, Sunderland got a fourth late-on, before Sophie Walton scored with a free kick from long range.
