SIR - Sometimes, when thinking about the news, people ask themselves, “How did we get here?” It’s often a very pertinent question.
Where Afghanistan, Iraq, Syria and terrorism are concerned, a new film with the double entendre title Vice goes some way to answering that question. It tells the story of George W Bush’s vice-president, Dick Cheney, with a lot of the plot covering the period after ‘9/11.’
LETTER OF THE DAY: Where will residents park?
Cheney is played very convincingly by Christian Bale, who is virtually unrecognisable in this role. However, though it’s a black(ish) comedy, for me there was a lot more to wince at, in terms of the actions of the central characters! Highly recommended.
