POLICE in Bradford are continuing to investigate after a male was taken to hospital with injuries before being arrested on suspicion of drug offences. 

A West Yorkshire Police spokesperson said officers were called to Sunbridge Road in the city centre just before 3.10pm yesterday to a "concern for the safety of a male"

Emergency services cordoned off part of the road - close to the bus stop and Premier shop.

An ambulance could be seen on one side of the road while officers guarded the cordoned off area.

According to the police spokesperson in a statement issued this morning, the male was "taken to hospital with minor injuries".

"He was then arrested on suspicion of drug offences and taken into police custody," they added.  

"Enquiries into the incident are ongoing."

No further details were released in the statement.
