A MAN has been arrested after a pedestrian was taken to hospital with serious injuries.

Leeds Road is currently closed due to the crash which took place just before 1.30pm this afternoon.

A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury through dangerous driving.

It was reported that the vehicle failed to stop following the collision.

A spokesperson for the force said: "At 1.20pm, police received a report of a collision involving a pedestrian and vehicle on Leeds Road, Bradford.

"Officers attended and the man was treated at the scene for serious injuries before being taken to hospital.

"It was reported that the vehicle involved had failed to stop following the collision which is said to have occurred near the junction with Seymour Street.

"Road closures are currently in place on Leeds Road between Seymour Street and Birksland Street.

"Enquiries into this incident continue.

"A man has been arrested on suspicion of causing serious injury through dangerous driving.

"Anyone with any information is encouraged to contact police on 101."
