A WOMAN is relieved that she is a step closer to returning home after suffering a "terrible experience" in Turkey where breast surgery left her in severe pain.

Chloe Rose, 23, and her best friend, who are still in the country, are thankful that the community has come together and raised over £7,000.

Chloe's sister, Collette Pickering, said Chloe has necrosis - the death of body tissue - following a breast uplift procedure earlier this week.

At the time of writing, £7,363 of the £15,000 target has been raised on the GoFundMe page, set up by Collette.

"It is a massive relief," said Collette when asked about getting Chloe home.

"We are extremely thankful for the help we have been given, it is overwhelming.

"Both my sister and her best mate are relieved that they have been given the opportunity to come home because of other people.

"A large amount (of donations) has been through strangers or people who know of Chloe.

"It has made me believe in humanity again. It has been nice seeing people group together and be there for my sister."

Chloe, who is from Halifax, and her best friend flew out across Sunday and Monday.

The surgery took place on Tuesday and "did not go well", according to Collette.

An update on the GoFundMe page, which you can donate to by clicking here, reads: "I am desperately asking you to help me bring my little sister home.

"She’s young, scared and away from family and help.

"I’ve spoken to the air ambulance and to bring her home it’s going to cost us over £15,000 so we are asking people who know and love Chloe to please give anything you can.

"Even if you don’t know Chloe, please please get her back with her family and in safe hands.

"Time is of the essence. So much thanks to everyone/anyone who helps."
