LATEST NEWS: Man who died in crash was 'very much loved locally'

AN elderly man has died following a crash in the Bradford district.

The collision involved a red Ford Fiesta and white Seat Arona on Hainworth Wood Road North, in Keighley, at around 4.30pm on Wednesday. 

The driver of the Fiesta, a 78-year-old man, passed away at the scene.

The driver of the Arona was taken to hospital for a check-up.

A spokesperson for the force said: "Police are appealing for witnesses after a fatal road traffic collision in Keighley.

"Officers were called to Hainworth Wood Road North at 4.30pm yesterday (Wednesday, October 11) to reports two vehicles were in collision.

"A red Ford Fiesta and white Seat Arona were in collision.

"The driver of the Fiesta, a 78-year-old man, sadly died at the scene. 

"The passenger in the Fiesta was taken to hospital to be checked over.

"The driver of the Seat Arona stopped at the scene and helped police with their enquiries.

"Officers are appealing for witnesses anyone who saw the vehicles prior to the collision or may have dash cam of the incident to come forward.
