A FUNDRAISER has been set up in memory of a teenager who suddenly died last week.

A huge police presence descended on Westgate in Baildon, at around 7.30am last Thursday, following reports of a medical emergency involving a 16-year-old boy.

The teenager, named locally as Saafi, was rushed to hospital where he sadly passed away.

His death has left the Baildon community in shock and tributes poured in after the news broke.

A GoFundMe page has been launched to raise funds for a memorial.

In a post on the GoFundMe page, organiser, Luke Wilson, said: "Hi guys we’ve put together this page to raise funds for a plot in a local cemetery hopefully Charlestown, Baildon.

"This is conditional to space available etc but that is the aim.

"Any funds raised will be put towards this and anything over and above will be used to give Saaf the best send-off we can.

"He was an absolute top kid so let’s give him an absolute top send-off. One he would be proud of.

"Thank you all for the love and support you’ve all been giving we appreciate it so much and love and miss him.

"We don’t have a date yet for the funeral but will be putting this on Facebook and will be in touch with all his friends in due course. Love xxx"
