PRET A Manger will open in The Broadway Shopping Centre in Bradford next month.

Pret will create six new jobs when it opens its first Bradford store in July in the 2529 sq ft unit - currently occupied by Tiffin Coffee Grande - on the corner of Charles Street and Market Street.

Meanwhile, Warren James, which already has a store in the Kirkgate Shopping Centre, has signed a lease at The Broadway to fill the 931 sqft unit next to Claires.

This will create 10 new jobs.

With several new leases already announced in 2023, The Broadway is aiming to drive negotiations with more retailers to add to its portfolio before the end of the year.

Ian Ward, general manager at The Broadway, said: “As summer approaches, I’m delighted to be announcing that two new brands have signed leases that will be open by the autumn.

“Notably, The Broadway is continuing to attract new retailers to the city as we welcome Pret A Manger to Bradford.

"Ensuring that The Broadway brings fresh and exciting retailers to the city is a huge priority as the city gears up for the City of Culture 2025.

"With transformational plans underway all over the city, now is the time for Bradford to step up and really showcase what a dynamic city it is.”

Prtet will offer a menu of freshly prepared food and organic coffee and teas for customers.

Tiffin will close its store to make way for the Pret chain, and will also close its current branch in the Wool Exchange.

The two Tiffin branches will then merge and re-open in the former Natwest Bank on Hustlergate to create “Bradford’s premier coffee shop".

Guy Meakin, UK Shops & Franchise Director at Pret A Manger, said: “Our aim at Pret is to bring our freshly made food and organic coffee to even more people around the country.

"That’s why we’re delighted to be bringing Pret to Bradford with our partner, Exultant Group.

"We look forward to welcoming customers to the new shop at The Broadway this summer, where they will be able to enjoy our newly expanded Club Pret subscription.”

Details of Pret’s plans were first revealed last month when the company applied for planning permission to install new branded signage on the unit.

It was a Patisserie Valerie when The Broadway first opened but closed in early 2019 when the cake chain went into administration.

Tiffin Coffee Grande opened later that year.
