THIS is the fabulous new look the former Patisserie Valerie unit in the heart of the city centre has been given after a Bradford-based firm took it on.

Tiffin Coffee Grande has now opened in The Broadway, marking an expansion from its coffee shop in The Wool Exchange.

Close to £100,000 has been spent on unit's refurbishment to ensure it packs a stylish punch.

The unit was vacant for some time after national cake chain Patisserie Valerie closed its store back in January.

Project manager Doug Stewart said the team is "delighted" at how it has turned out.

"We really feel like we have created a lovely new environment that welcomes everybody in the city," he said.

"We really paid extra attention to our cake and desert selection, picking some of the most fabulous and eye-catching products that we felt would work with our brand and would be well received by our customers. Our lush custom high back sofas, colourful chairs and large windows have all really come together to create a space that is comfortable and relaxing while being a touch more modern than its counterpart Tiffin Coffee on Bank Street, but both shops offer something different and unique which is why we are so proud of what the team has achieved across the Tiffin Coffee Brand."

The new spot officially opened on Wednesday and the work was carried out by local contractors.

Mr Stewart added: "From the moment we opened our doors we have had the pleasure of welcoming and serving so many new people and returning customers from our very first store on Bank Street.Everyone has been so complimentary of the store and the team and we’re really pleased that it has been well received by the city so far.

"All the team that work within the business at Tiffin Grande are all local people that we were exceptionally pleased to find. We have also been supported along the way by the team Bradford Council with the City Centre Business Growth Scheme which was a great resource to have available.

"We can’t wait to welcome and tempt more and more people over our first weekend with our awesome drinks range, both hot and cold, and with our mouth-watering deserts."

The firm is one of the UK's largest independent sandwich retailers.

John Varey, Marketing Manager at Tiffin Sandwiches, said: “The Broadway’s wide range of bars and dining experiences is one of the most compelling in the region, which made it an easy decision to open Tiffin Coffee Grande in the centre. Growth has been phenomenal since launching and we’re excited to be making further plans to expand into units in Leeds and Holmfirth.”
