LATEST NEWS: Vape shop did not have 'anything to do' with cannabis farm police found

TWO serious disturbances on the same day are believed to be linked to a cannabis farm - with police finding a blank firing cartridge following the second altercation.

The Telegraph & Argus reported on an outbreak of disorder and an assault in Woodend Crescent, off Leeds Road, in Shipley in the early hours of Monday morning.

West Yorkshire Police has now revealed this was linked to another attack later that day in nearby West Royd Avenue, and a cannabis farm was found above a business there.

Officers were called to reports of the second disturbance at 7.41pm on Monday, where two groups of individuals were in the street.

A scene was put in place for further enquiries, a blank firing cartridge was recovered from the scene.

No criminal damage or injuries were reported, police added.

Officers then discovered a cannabis farm above a business on West Royd Avenue, a scene is currently in place whilst officers investigate.

Enquiries are ongoing by Bradford CID.

Detective Inspector Rupinder Ghatrora of Bradford CID said:

“We believe these incidents are both linked and are targeted attacks linked to the cannabis farm.

“Neighbourhood Patrols have been stepped up in the local area to provide reassurance.

“I would like to appeal to the local community who may have witnessed either incident or who has seen anything suspicious in the area over the last few days to come forward.”
