A BRADFORD-born man who is now a USA-based TV host is returning to his musical roots with the release of a new EP featuring artists from his home city.

David Nowakowski has become a TV presenter in Colorado, USA, where he now lives.

He is the co-host of daytime TV show Loving Living Local, a show on the FOX21 channel in Colorado, every weekday between 9am and 10am.

 

The live lifestyle show is similar to ITV's This Morning in the UK with features on subjects including food and music.

Mr Nowakowski, who is known as the keyboard player from Bradford band Scars on 45, has produced a collection of new music.

Undercover II, which was released on May 29, is the follow-up to Undercover which was released in 2021.

The new EP includes covers of songs by music legends such as Ray Charles, Pink and Cyndi Lauper.

Mr Nowakowski has produced and played on all of the tracks, which were recorded remotely during the pandemic.

Devan Blake Jones sings America the Beautiful by Ray Charles on the EP. Devan is from Denver, Colorado, who was a contestant on season 20 of The Voice. He was a member of Team Nick Jonas.

Bradford singer-songwriter Chantel McGregor sings Long Train Runnin’ by the Doobie Brothers.

Another Denver act, King Cardinal, performs Cruel Summer by Bananarama on the EP.

Rising Fever, a Bradford artist living in Brighton, sings Happy Together by the Turtles on the album. He also sang the theme song for BBC One drama series, The Syndicate, created by Kay Mellor, on which he collaborated with Mr Nowakowski.

Nashville-based, Hannah Miller, has covered Just a Girl by Pink. Mr Nowakowski has also teamed up with Andy Ruddy, who is originally from Bradford and now lives in London, on Undercover II.

Mr Ruddy sings True Colors by Cyndi Lauper on the EP. He has written a number of songs with Mr Nowakowski and the two are both Bradford City fans.

They also worked together to provide music for the series finale of The Syndicate in 2021.

'Faultlines' was featured over the end scene and into the credits of the programme.

Mr Nowakowski also has a piano track on the final episode of The Syndicate called ‘The Walk’.

Mr Nowakowski said: “It’s a brand-new cover EP which are all collaborations with other artists from all over the world, which was done during the pandemic remotely.

“I produced and played on all the tracks.”
