IT has taken a decade, but Albion Sports are finally back at Horsfall, and back in Bradford.

The Northern Counties East League Premier Division side, a historic Bradford club, joined the non-league pyramid in 2011, and moved to Horsfall as a result.

But after just two seasons of ground-sharing with Bradford (Park Avenue), they were unable to strike a deal to play there for a third season and beyond.

Farsley Celtic kindly stepped in to save Albion, and agreed to host their Bradford neigbours at The Citadel from the 2013/14 season onwards.

That is where Albion have played their football since, but it has frustrated fans, managers and board members alike that the club have had to play their football outside of Bradford for so long.

But they are back in BD6 for this season at least, a deal Avenue were glad to strike.

Their operations manager/secretary Cal Cullen said: “It’s fantastic to have Albion playing their games here next season. They are a well-known and well-run club here in Bradford.

“It’s another development for the stadium, and Albion will be working around Bradford (Park Avenue)’s and West Bowling ARFLC’s fixtures, meaning more sport for the people of Bradford to enjoy.”

Albion will begin their second tenure in BD6 from July/August, in time for the new NCEL Premier Division season, where they will be looking to build on their 12th place finish last time out.
