A THRIVING Bradford city centre business has celebrated being shortlisted for a national award by installing another game.

Looney Golf Leisure Venue, on North Parade in the former Boyes department store building, is up for Best Indoor Entertainment at the LTG Global Awards 2022/23.

Its most recent addition is Football Pool.

Owner Awais Yasin feels the recognition is down to his team's hard work over the past year or so.

"We love to put Bradford on the map," he said.

"We were surprised to hear from them saying we have been shortlisted. We only opened last year and they seemed to be really impressed.

"We built and designed this place all by ourselves and have worked really hard.

"We have made huge improvements in a small amount of time.

"It is our biggest accomplishment. We are looking forward to heading to the awards event."

A post on the company's website added: "We are proud to announce that Looney Golf has been shortlisted for Global Awards Best Indoor Entertainment of the Year.

"This would not have been possible without the support of each and every one of you.

"We now ask you for your continued support, feedback, and reviews to help us to carry on and win this thing.

"Let's all work together to show the globe that Bradford is one of the best places to be."

The business, which only opened in September 2021, offers a unique indoor mini-golf experience, food and drink, plus arcades and other sports like archery and darts.

The opening came just days after another leisure business opened in a neighbouring unit - VR City gaming centre.

In a time when many businesses are struggling, Looney Golf seems to be bucking the trend.

Mr Yasin added: "We wanted to be original from the start, Bradford has never had a place like this.

"The new additions have been really popular with both bookings and walk-ins.

"People from Bradford and out of the city come to our venue. We had over 180 people last Saturday.

"We enjoy hosting the games. Affordability is key for us.

"We want to be a family-friendly place and hit every single audience."

Prices at Looney Golf range between £7 and £10 per game and bookings can be made online or by walk-ins.

In January, they are running a promotion where customers can play both games for only £10 per person.
