A WOMAN has decided to move her Bradford district business to a bigger shop after she relocated.

Patten Home Gifts started as a home-based fragrance business in July 2020 for owner Carissa Patten.

The business quickly grew and opened a shop on Kirkgate in Shipley in January 2022.

Now after she relocated from her home in Wrose to Idle, Carissa has decided to give up her lease for the Kirkgate shop and is planning to open up a new site on The Green, Idle, in February next year.

Despite conceding it will be a wrench for her to leave her shop at Kirkgate, Carissa says she is excited for her firm’s future in a larger base.

She will keep the Kirkgate business going before opening up her shop in Idle in February, adding she will update the latter location in her spare time in January.

The shop stocks a host of goods including candles, wax melts, room sprays, bath bombs and other household goods.

Carissa makes and sells her own home fragrance items and also stocks goods from a host of Bradford district-based businesses including Baxters Bath Bombs, Goddess and Moon and Saltaire Print Maker.

The Kirkgate shop will re-open to customers on Tuesday, January 3, at 9am after a break for Christmas.

Signs on the shop’s front door reads: “Shop to let due to relocation.”

Carissa posted on the Patten Home Gifts Facebook and Instagram pages last month: “Our beautiful shop is up for let.

“We are hoping to relocate in the next few months.

“Should you know anyone who would be interested in renting this beautiful shop situated between Shipley and Saltaire please let me know.”

As she does not drive, she was facing hour-long walks to the shop from her new home in Idle.

She said: “The business has started to expand a bit. I’m stocking for a lot more people.

“It’s exciting. It’s going to be really good. It is a step forward and it will be a good move.

“It makes more sense for me to open in Idle. It will help me to create more opening times for the new shop. It will be a good move for my locals as well.”

Shoppers can also create their own gift boxes from scratch, filling them with products from inside the store.

The shop, which opened last January, also has a presence on social media platforms including Instagram and TikTok.
