A school in Bradford has made “the difficult decision” to issue an emergency closure.

Appleton Academy, Wyke, has reported a water pump failure and lack of running water.

An update for parents is expected later on Monday morning about online learning resources on offer.

The full closure will last throughout Monday, December 12.

In a statement, a spokesperson for the school said: “Due to a water pump failure and lack of running water the academy has made the difficult decision to close today.

“We will provide an update later this morning, including about the availability of online learning for today. We apologise for the inconvenience.”
