More floral tributes have been left in memory of a “special” 35-year-old man who died in an early-hours crash.

Nicky Tidswell, known by the nickname ‘Tiddy’, died in the collision on Mayo Avenue shortly after 3.30am on Saturday.

A line of flowers can be seen on the grass verge where his Kia Sorento SUV lost control and collided with street furniture.

Mr Tidswell, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, died at the scene.

Tributes have been pouring in since his death was announced.

One note said: “Tiddy. Gone far too soon lad, someone so special can never be forgotten. Hope you have the best seat up there. Love you always.”

“Gone too soon,” another tribute reads.

A number of comments on social media read “RIP Tiddy”, while others said “Thoughts and prayers are with his family”, “You were too young to die this way” and “Massive tragedy and so sad”.

Police are still appealing for witnesses to the collision.

West Yorkshire Police said: "At 3.38am, police were called to the incident in Mayo Avenue, near to the junction with Manchester Road, where a silver Kia Sorento SUV had lost control and collided with street furniture before overturning in the opposite carriageway.

Bradford Telegraph and Argus:

"The driver, a 35-year-old man who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The car had been travelling up Manchester Road away from the city centre at the time of the collision and had failed to negotiate a left turn onto Mayo Avenue.

"The incident is under investigation by West Yorkshire Police Major Collision Enquiry Team.”
