FLORAL tributes have been left at the scene of a tragic accident which saw a Bradford man lose his life yesterday.

Nicky Tidswell, known by the nickname ‘Tiddy’, died after a collision on Mayo Avenue shortly after 3.30am on Saturday.

Flowers have now been laid close to where Tiddy’s Kia Sorento SUV lost control and collided with street furniture.

The 35-year-old, who was the only occupant of the vehicle, died at the scene.

Messages have been left along with the flowers, some of which read “R.I.P bro” and “hope you have found peace”.

Tributes to Tiddy have also been left online.

“Rest in peace Nicky, one special person, fly high love” read one message, while another said “luv u my brother”.

A number of comments on social media read “RIP Tiddy”, while others said “Thoughts and prayers are with his family”, “You were too young to die this way” and “Massive tragedy and so sad”.

Police are still appealing for witnesses to the collision.

In an earlier statement, West Yorkshire Police said: "At 3:38am, police were called to the incident in Mayo Avenue, near to the junction with Manchester Road, where a silver Kia Sorento SUV had lost control and collided with street furniture before overturning in the opposite carriageway.

"The driver, a 35-year-old man who was the sole occupant of the vehicle, was pronounced dead at the scene.

"The car had been travelling up Manchester Road away from the city centre at the time of the collision and had failed to negotiate a left turn onto Mayo Avenue.

"The incident is under investigation by West Yorkshire Police Major Collision Enquiry Team."
