A MAN died after he was hit by a train on a busy line, British Transport Police (BTP) has confirmed.
Several TransPennine Express services between Manchester and Huddersfield were affected on Friday afternoon following the incident.
BTP attended reports of a casualty on the tracks at Slaithwaite Station at around 2pm.
The village station was cordoned off by police and a private ambulance was in attendance.
A spokesperson from the BTP said: "British Transport Police were called to Slaithwaite station at 2.06pm on Friday 4 November following reports of a casualty on the tracks.
"Paramedics also attended and sadly a man was pronounced dead at the scene.
"The incident is not being treated as suspicious and a file will be prepared for the coroner."
