A PERSON was hit by a train this afternoon causing mass disruption on a busy line.
Several TransPennine Express services between Manchester and Huddersfield have been affected.
The incident occurred near Slaithwaite at around 2pm on Friday and the railway station in the village is cordoned off by police. A private ambulance can be seen near the station entrance.
The first train disrupted was the 2.33pm from Manchester Piccadilly to Huddersfield.
In total, four services from the above route, or visa versa, and two from Manchester Piccadilly to Hull have been cancelled.
The Telegraph & Argus has approached the British Transport Police for a comment.
