A Bradfordian who leads a double life as a dementia carer and influencer has won a regional award for food blogging.

Shannon Palmer – known for her slimming recipes, culture reviews and lifestyle posts – is followed by almost 52,000 people on Instagram.

Taking followers on the journey through her life, the food blogger reveals insights into her job as an end of life and dementia carer at Springfield Care Home and being a step mum.

Shannon, originally from West Bowling and now living in Shelf, was among five highly-influential finalists for Food Blogger Of The Year in the Yorkshire Blogger Awards (YBA).

She was crowned the winner at a special ceremony at Left Bank in Leeds.

Describing how it felt to win the award, Shannon said: “I absolutely love being a Yorkshire lass, you can find me out and about walking, blogging, reviewing or finding the best Yorkshire has to offer. I am so proud that I beat off tough competition at the blogger awards Friday night, never in a million years did I expect to win and never in a million years have I been left speechless.

“A lot of people can relate as I tell real life and what you see is what you get. I am so proud to bring the award home to Bradford.”
