GP practices across Bradford district are set to close for The Queen’s state funeral on Monday.

Bradford District and Craven Health and Care Partnership confirmed the bank holiday closures and plans to reopen surgeries on Tuesday, September 20.

People who had a GP practice appointment booked for Monday, September 19, will be contacted directly to rearrange their appointment to the earliest opportunity.

Meanwhile people who are due to reorder their repeat medicines on Monday are also asked to order these early to make sure they have enough medicines to last over the longer weekend.

It follows a similar protocol seen during bank holidays throughout the year.

For common illnesses such as headaches, sore throats and aches and pains, pharmacies will remain open throughout the bank holiday weekend.

People can ask pharmacists for expert advice on many illnesses without the need to book an appointment.
