A minute’s silence in memory of Her Majesty will be held prior to the 3pm kick-off.

National League System games are also off, meaning no Saturday fixture for the likes of Bradford (Park Avenue), Eccleshill United and Thackley.

The England and Wales Cricket Board (ECB) have announced that all grass-roots cricket will go ahead this weekend.

However, clubs have been asked to observe a minute’s silence before matches start.

Whether players wear black in addition depends on the individual.

Rugby Union games across the district will also go ahead this weekend as teams and supporters come together to honour The Queen.

The Combined Authority were due to meet on Friday to discuss a number of issues ranging from the cost of living crisis to Leeds’ bid to host Eurovision.

But that meeting was cancelled, with a post on the Combined Authority website saying: “Following the sad announcement of the passing of Her Majesty the Queen, the decision has been taken to cancel the scheduled Combined Authority meeting as a mark of respect to Her Majesty and the Royal Family and in acknowledgement of the period of national mourning.”

The West Yorkshire Police and Crime Panel, another meeting due to be held on Friday morning, was also cancelled.

The death of the Queen was announced shortly after a meeting of Bradford Council’s Bradford South Area Committee had opened on Thursday night.

After the news circulated Chair Councillor David Green (Lab, Wibsey) said it was only right that the meeting is postponed.
