A FORMER bar and nightclub next to a shopping parade can be turned into flats and a shop.
Jack and Jills, off Allerton Road and behind Allerton Shopping Centre, has been vacant for years.
The bar, and an attached take away, is currently boarded up.
A planning application to convert the ground floor into retail and the upper floors into nine flats were submitted by K Chamberlain earlier this Summer.
The plans were approved by Bradford Council earlier this month.
New nightclub to open in Bradford city centre
Planning officers said: “The building is currently redundant and so the development would see the reuse of the building.
“The loss of the public house/restaurant would not have a significantly negative impact on the viability of the local centre.
“The proposed flats are of a suitable size to provide adequate amenity space for the future residents. The site is in a sustainable location with easy access to amenities and public transport.”
