A BRAND new nightclub will be opening in Bradford city centre next month.

The new club called 'Control' will open its doors on Godwin Street in the former home of Lingard's nightclub in the city centre.

It will kick off with the official preview party on April 16 and will be open at weekends from then on.

Club promoter, Ben Kearns said: "We are hoping to create something that we feel has been missing in our city for a very long time. Bradfords nightlife has been on the decline in recent years but we feel we have the perfect space, the experience and vision to put it back on track."

The club will be open at the weekends, to begin with to "build it up" with the vision to have the venue in use during the week too.

Ben said that he is not new to the nightlife scene and has been involved with the industry for the past 15 years.

He said: "I've had bars and clubs in the past, and currently have The Shoulder of Mutton in Shelf which is a great family and food pub, I am also involved with Bradford Dance Festival which was a huge success last year.

The club is located in the heart of town and will be close by to the new Bradford Live venue that is due to open in the former Odeon building later this year.
