A STORE destroyed by a fire almost three years ago can be rebuilt after plans to replace the building were approved.

In November 2019, the Bradford Super Choice store on Girlington Road was badly damaged in a blaze.

Over several hours 44 firefighters dealt with the blaze and its aftermath.

The building was so damaged that it had to be demolished.

The cause of the fire was thought to be a faulty electrical appliance.

In May, a planning application to rebuild the store was submitted to Bradford Council by Mahmood Hussain. That application has now been approved.

Planning officers said plans were effectively for a replacement building, adding: “The proposed building would be very similar in scale, design and appearance to the previous structure on the site.”
