West Yorkshire Police are calling on Bradford’s teenagers to become volunteer police cadets.

There are over 300 volunteer police cadets across West Yorkshire, offering young people the chance to earn the Duke of Edinburgh’s Bronze and Silver Awards.

The two year programme sees cadets meet once a week for two hours during the school term.

It is open to teenagers aged 13 to 17 who will be in year nine or above at school or college in the new academic year this September.

Sessions usually take place after school in the late afternoon or early evening.

The volunteering advert reads: “Do you have an interest in policing and public services? Would you like to volunteer in the service of your community?”
