A MAN has been jailed after breaching a community order by damaging property at Bradford Royal Infirmary.

Michael Kalmar, 26, currently of no fixed address, pleaded guilty before magistrates to criminal damage relating to an incident at the Duckworth Lane hospital on May 14 involving damage to a soap dispenser.

He was jailed for two weeks, but as a result of the incident, which took place while he was subject to a community order imposed for a number of thefts, the community sentence was revoked.

He was then re-sentenced for four counts of theft – all from the Next store in Bradford in 2021, amounting to £424 worth of coats and gilets.

This brought his total prison sentence to ten weeks.

The hearing took place at Bradford and Keighley Magistrates’ Court.
