A WOMAN has been banned from entering Bradford city centre after assaulting a police community support officer (PCSO).

Deborah Burns, 34, of Sycamore Close, Bradford, was given a community order for two offences.

In the first charge, assault by beating of an emergency worker, Burns assaulted a PCSO acting in the exercise of his functions as such a worker, by beating him. This took place in Bradford on November 2, 2021. She was also ordered to pay £100 compensation and a £95 victim surcharge for this offence.

This offence was aggravated by being committed against an emergency worker acting in the exercise of their duty.

In the second charge, obstruct/resist a constable in execution of duty, Burns assaulting a police constable in the execution of his duty, also in Bradford on November 2, 2021.

Burns was given a community order for the two offences including she must not enter Bradford City Centre, the Centenary Square area, defined as Ivegate, Market Street, Bank Street, Hall Ings, A6181, Godwin Street and Kirkgate. This exclusion requirement lasts for three months.

The exclusion requirement sees Burns to be electronically monitored with a GPS tag, Burns was sentenced at Bradford & Keighley Magistrates’ Court on May 9, 2022.
