ANOTHER fast food restaurant in Bradford has revealed plans to install electric vehicle charging points in it car park.

A planning application to install rapid EV points at the McDonalds in Thornbury, just off Leeds Road, has been submitted to Bradford Council.

It says two parking bays in the car park of the drive thru will have charging points installed.

A decision on the application is expected early in the New Year.

In recent years a number of restaurants, cafes, filling stations and take aways in Bradford have installed charging points in their car parks as the number of electric vehicles in the District has risen.

Plans to refurbish Leeds Road filling station, including new shop and electric charging points, are approved

Earlier this week Prime Minister Boris Johnson announced new legislation on charging points. All new build homes, supermarkets, and workplaces have to have the charging points installed, and those undergoing major renovations will be forced to make the upgrades.

Last month a planning application for the city's first dedicated EV charging station was approved by Bradford Council. The site, which will have 10 EV charging points, will be built on the site of the derelict Bowling Bridge Filling Station on Wakefield Road.
