LATEST NEWS: Police confirm shooting in street and reveal reports of more 'gunshots' just 10 minutes later
FOUR people have been arrested following an incident in Wibsey this evening.
Police officers swarmed Smith Avenue last night (Tues) and cordoned off the residential road.
People in the area reported hearing a loud bang and police vehicles were seen heading up Rooley Lane in the direction of Odsal roundabout.
A police plane was also reported to have been flying overhead.
A West Yorkshire Police spokesman said officers were called to the scene at around 6.10pm to reports of an incident in Smith Avenue where possible gunshots had been heard.
The spokesman said officers secured the scene and identified some vehicles which may have been involved.
Arrest enquiries were carried out a nearby address.
The spokesman said four arrests have been made and enquiries are ongoing.
