THE collision hotspots for cyclists in Bradford have been revealed in an interactive map.

Using Crash Map, we have tracked down Bradford roads with the highest number of collisions involving cyclists in 2020.

The app uses official data from The Department of Transport, which it then inputs onto an interactive map.

It shows you where ‘fatal’, ‘serious’ and ‘slight’ driving collisions have taken place in your area.

We have already looked at the most dangerous roads in Bradford, with Leeds Road and Legrams Lane among the roads with the highest number of incidents in 2020.

Now it is time to focus our attention on cyclists and where the most collisions involving pedal cycles took place last year.

According to the interactive map, more than 50 collisions involving a pedal cycle were reported in and around Bradford last year.

Thankfully, none have been fatal but numerous ‘serious’ and ‘slight’ collisions have been reported.

Both Keighley Road and Stanningley Road have seen one serious and two slight collisions in the last year.

The serious incident on Stanningley Road involved an 11-year-old cyclist, who suffered serious injuries after a collision involving two other vehicles.

A serious accident was also reported on the junction between Sunbridge Road and Godwin Street.

Cemetery Road also seems to be a dangerous stretch for cyclists, as two serious incidents took place on this road last year.

Other incidents resulting in a pedal cycle casualty took place on Caledonia Street, Keighley Road and Holmewood Road.

Sadly, another serious collision involving a cyclist took place on St Stephen’s Road roundabout.

In October of last year, police and paramedics were called to Longside Lane off Thornton Road after reports of a collision involving a van and a cyclist.

The cyclist was taken to hospital with a suspected head injury.

Halifax Road and Heather Grove in Keighley also saw two serious incidents last year.
