A NUMBER of schools remain closed today due to the major tyre fire, which has caused huge disruption in the city all week.
This evening eight fire engines and an aerial appliance remain at the scene, on Upper Castle Street, with firefighters using foam to tackle the blaze.

There is expected to be a fire service presence at the scene for a considerable time.
Schools still closed today are:
- Bronte Girls' Academy
- Dixons City Academy
- Dixons Sixth Form Academy
- Rainbow Primary School
- Bowling Park Primary School
- Park Primary Pupil Referral Unit
Roads in the area still closed are:
- Parma Street junction with Upper Castle Street
- Mill Lane junction with Nelson Street
- Mill Lane junction with Fitzwilliam Street
All other roads are now open. HGVs cannot enter Pitcliffe Way Industrial Estate but cars and vans can.
After all train lines had blocked since Monday morning, some services in and out of Bradford Interchange have resumed.
In its latest update, National Rail Enquiries said: "Our teams have inspected the railway equipment following a large fire near Bradford Interchange. Some services have now resumed. There's still a lot of smoke in the area, which means there is ongoing disruption."
This afternoon, Bradford Council said in an update: "We're allowing as many businesses as possible back to their premises. People in the area should still keep doors & windows shut."
