From The Queen in Saltaire to Princess Anne officially opening the underground bar and restaurant complex Sunbridgewells, we take a trip down memory lane.

All of the Union Jack flags, curtsies and bunting are on display here as Prince William is set to follow in both his mother and father's footsteps by visiting the district.

The Queen in Saltaire - July 2012

We reported that Saltaire was awash with red, white and blue as the Queen and Duke of Edinburgh visited the World Heritage Site as part of their Diamond Jubilee tour of the nation.

The Royal couple's visit included lunch at the then technology firm Pace in Victoria Road, where they had lunch.

A healthy throng waved Union Jack flags, while the Royal couple were greeted in the village by local dignitaries including Lord Mayor of Bradford Councillor Dale Smith and Lord Lieutenant of West Yorkshire Dr Ingrid Roscoe.

Prince Charles - December 2010

Prince Charles lauded the wool industry during a visit to the British Wool Marketing Company on the Euroway Trading Estate.

He also signed the visitors' book during his stay. He later went on to City Hall where he was met by a large crowd of well-wishers.

The Prince of Wales also stopped at Belle Vue Girls' School where headteacher Mary Copeland gave Princes Charles an acrylic 3D portrait of himself painted by top A-level student Rizwana Bibi, then aged 17.

Princess Diana - September 1991

The then Princess of Wales made a re-scheduled visit to Shipley Resource Centre on September 12, 1991.

The day centre for adults with learning disabilities had long been preparing and was teeming with staff, service users, their families and volunteers, all hoping to catch a glimpse of the royal guest.

The visit had been postponed from an earlier date when, instead of coming to Bradford as planned, Diana rushed to tend to Prince William, who had been hit on the forehead by a golf club on his school putting green.

Princess Anne in Sunbridgewells and BRI wing opening - June 2017

Princess Anne was on triple duty during her last visit to Bradford three years ago.

She officially opened Bradford Royal Infirmary’s new £28m hospital wing.

The Princess Royal spent an hour touring the new facilities at BRI meeting staff and patients.

Her second appointment saw her officially open the underground £1.9milion Sunbridgewells development in the city centre of bars and restaurants, where she stayed for lunch.

Princess Anne’s third and final stop in Bradford was to Stanley Mills Weavers, Edward Street, after it installed £1.2m worth of new weaving machinery.

Prince William - June 2014

Next week's trip will not be the first time Prince William has visited Bradford.

He visited Centrepoint, a youth homelessness charity which has a site in the West Bowling area of the city, in June 2014.

Prince William, who is a Royal Patron of the charity, learned about its work across the Bradford district, before watching young people take part in video skills and employability training workshops.
