SIR - To the Labour Party MPs in Bradford district and those within the boundaries of Colne in Lancashire, if you gain office at the election will you push for the re-opening of the Skipton to Colne line? This must be a priority.
This would be an ideal route to Burnley, Blackburn and Preston. Another route from West Yorks to Lancashire but, at what costs would this be? Apart from the actual track being laid there would need to be two bridges built over the River Aire and the canal, five gates crossings, a station at Embsay, a bridge/crossing over the A6068, the main road to the M65 at Colne which would then need to cross a sports field to meet the existing line at Colne station.
LETTER: It's not just Trump and Johnson - we're all liars
If Labour win the election, will Bradford MPs push for the re-opening of the former Spen Valley branch line? This would enable those along the valley to leave their cars at home and avoid traffic jams at the top of the M606, Mayo Avenue, Rooley Lane towards Dudley Hill.
