A FORMER Council run care home is still on the market after failing to sell at a property auction.
The Holme View Care Home in the Holme Wood estate was shut in 2017, and has remained empty ever since.
The 1,425 sq m property went under the hammer at a recent auction by Pugh Auctioneers on Thursday. The building, which was home to 37 residents, had a guide price of £325,000.
As it failed to sell, the building is currently still available.
£1 million refurbishment complete at Cottingley Hall Care Home
Bradford Council closed Holme View, which used to provide housing for people with dementia, in 2017 saying it would have cost £1m to bring the two storey home up to scratch with modern standards.
In 2016/17 the authority spent £1.5m on running Holme View, roughly £40,000 per resident, with income only coming to £352,084.
Residents were moved to other facilities, and the Council has since worked to develop a number of other homes for people with dementia.
The Council sold the building in 2018.
Local politicians had hoped the site would be bought by a housing developer.
