RESIDENTS at a care home in Bingley have been celebrating after £1 million of refurbishment work was completed at the home.

Residents, their relatives and staff at Cottingley Hall Care Home in Bradford Road held a garden party to mark the end of the project.

They were joined by local MP Philip Davies for the event, which included afternoon tea and entertainment from the local All Together Now Choir.

As part of the £1 million project to renovate the former private residence, vast upgrades have been made throughout the building, with all bedrooms, en suites, communal areas and other spaces freshly refurbished.

New furniture has been fitted and the cinema room has also been refurbished to allow residents to watch their favourite films in comfort.

The historic features of the Hall, such as ornate fireplaces, high ceilings and wood-panelled hallways have all been retained during the work.

Lorraine Tinkler, home manager, said: “We are delighted with the refurbishments made to the home.

“It has had a huge impact and has been greatly received, making our environment an improved and enhanced place of care.”
