A HOUSING provider is planning to demolish buildings on one of its sites because they are regularly broken into by people wanting to dump “hazardous waste.”
Incommunities says the garages on Wenbrough Lane are not tenanted, and need to be demolished to prevent break ins and future unauthorised tippings.
Last week Bradford Council validated an application to demolish two garages on the road, which is in Holme Wood. One of the garages appears to have already been flattened.
Plans lodged to demolish building on Harris Court Mill siteThe application says: “The (garages) are owned by and on Incommunities land and have no active leases on them. The surrounding community have broken into the garages numerous times and use them as a tipping ground, often tipping hazardous waste which poses a risk to the surrounding residents and has to be removed by Incommunities.”
The company says that once the garages are demolished the land will be cleared for car parking for the estate.
The Council will decide on whether to allow the demolition is expected in mid August.
