AN application has been lodged to demolish a building on the fire-blighted Harris Court Mill site in Great Horton.
The mill complex has been hit by fires in recent months, now an application is seeking approval to demolish a three-storey building to the rear of the site.
The application says: "The building was a later addition to the four storey mill which was constructed in 1861 which replaced one of the first textile mills built in Great Horton.
"The building is a three storey mill constructed from stone with timber floors.
"The mill has remained empty for over 12 years after Yorkshire Envelopes vacated in 2007. During this period the mill has suffered severe structural issues and has been blighted by vandalism and anti social behaviour.
"After demolition the site will be left safe and tidy and will not adversely effect the surrounding environment.
"The part of the building connected to the neighbouring building will be dealt with under the party wall act."
