AN East End resident has apparently filmed his neighbour attempting to put in place parking controls ahead of a Celtic game - on the day the club were playing away.

The video shot in the Dalmarnock Village near Celtic Park has gone viral after a neighbour filmed the resident's attempts to stop supporters parking on his street.

It is understood that the man got up at 7.30am on Saturday to put out parking cones on the street in a bid to prevent supporters taking a space. Celtic, however, were playing in the other side of the city against Partick Thistle in the Scottish League Cup. The supporters travelled to Firhill in the North of the city for the game.

A caption accompanying the video contained offensive language.

Part of the caption read: "Mr bitter has his own wee stash of yellow cones so people going to Celtic games can't park. 7.30am in the p***ing rain. Somebody better tell him the games in Maryhill."

Celtic beat Partick Thistle 3-1 to move onto the next round of the League Cup yesterday.
