A man and a woman have been arrested after fighting with police officers outside a Tesco store in Bradford.
Telegraph & Argus reporters were in one of the 15 police vehicles that raced to the scene after officers called for urgent assistance.
Police were called to the car park of the supermarket on Halifax Road in Buttershaw just before 10pm after receiving reports of a couple being drunk and disorderly.
The woman threw beer over a police officer, prompting her male friend to get involved. He was then sprayed with CS gas by an officer and the couple began brawling with officers.
The pair - the man had blood pouring from his nose - were arrested for being drunk and disorderly in a public place and assaulting police officers. They were put into police vans, with the man shouting and banging his head against the inside in anger.
PC Andrew Gudgeon, of the Roads Policing Unit, said: “The officers involved put in a Code Zero call, meaning urgent assistance required, so every available officer raced to the scene.”
