From the Telegraph & Argus of September 9, 1981...Bradford Council's drive to bring tourists to the area has resulted in 2,000 people booking holidays this year, with another 3,000 expected next year. The Council's Economic Development Unit is working on a number of new holidays for 1982 and is training 30 tourist guides.

From the Telegraph & Argus of September 9, 1956...An urgent radio message from a US serviceman in Germany was picked up by a Bradford amateur radio engineer last night. The sender asked any English receiver to pass an urgent message for a medical firm in Slough to send drugs to an Israeli desert out-post near Tel Aviv. F. W. Masefield, of Selborne Villas, Clayton, was listening to his radio when an American serviceman transmitting from Germany passed on the message that he had received from Israel. Mr Masefield contacted Bradford police.
