From the Telegraph & Argus of September 8, 1981...Bradford Euro MP Barry Seal has joined the growing campaign to save the rail links with London. British Rail is said to be planning to withdraw all but one of the Inter-City 125 services from Bradford. Dr Seal said: "I'm extremely concerned. It will make Bradford a second-class town and make it even more difficult to attract industry." He is now hoping for support from Bradford Council.

From the Telegraph & Argus of September 8, 1956...The director of Brown, Muff and Co married his secretary today. Geoffrey Marriott, of Toller Drive, Heaton, and Jeanne Lapish, of Hollin Lane, Windhill, Shipley were married at St Barnabas Church, Heaton. The bridegroom is treasurer of Bradford Round Table and the eldest son of Ernest Marriott, managing director of the company. The bride is the only daughter of Mr and Mrs Joseph Lapish and former member of staff in the millinery department.
