From the Telegraph & Argus of September 7, 1981...Seven long-stay hospitals in the Bradford area are to get a new League of Friends this month thanks to the city's Rotary Club. Earlier this year Rotary members spearheaded moves to form a League of Friends at St Luke's Hospital and the public response was so enthusiastic more Leagues are to be established.

From the Telegraph & Argus of September 7, 1956...Dorothy Dyson, a 21-year-old student pharmacist at St Luke's Hospital, Bradford, realised her ambition to fly in a jet aircraft when she had a half-hour trip in a Meteor jet trainer, reaching 15,000ft and 500mph. Dorothy, of Sunnyridge Avenue, Pudsey, has been a member of the Royal Observer Corps for four years.
