From the Telegraph & Argus of September 5, 1956...About 5,000 cigarettes were stolen form the lock-up shop of Mary Greenwood at the junction of Valley Road and Otley Road, Shipley. Entry was made during the night by removing a few bricks and getting into the shop from the ground floor. The premises of J.T.Hey, a wholesale ironmongers on Saltaire Road, was also broken into. Thieves took 1s 2d.
