25 Years Ago: Bradford-based Yorkshire Cable announced that it would be pumping eight new channels into its television network enabling thousands of cable subscribers the opportunity to view everything from shopping to cartoons.
50 Years Ago: Injured Bradford explorer Alan Gill, would now have to stay in the Arctic for the five months of winter darkness because it was “impossible” for a ‘plane to land. Thirty-eight-year-old Mr. Gill had been hurt after falling into a snow-covered ice crack.
